Researcher Faten Ziad Al Dabak, a student in the Innovation in Education Program at the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the Arab American University, has defended her thesis titled: "The Effectiveness of An Educational Module Based on Multimedia to Develop Language Skills among Third-Graders at Tayasir Elementary Mixed School."

The present study aimed to identify the effectiveness of an educational module based on multimedia to develop language skills among third-grade students at Tayasir Elementary Mixed School.

The study was implemented using the constructivist approach and the experimental approach with a quasi-experimental design. To achieve the study objectives, an educational module based on multimedia was built to develop the language skills of third-grade students, and an observation card was built to measure the level of these skills. The module and the observation card were applied to the study sample consisting of (50) male and female students from the third grade. The sample was divided into two groups: an experimental group consisting of (25) male and female students who were taught using multimedia, and a control group consisting of (25) male and female students who were taught using traditional methods.

The results of the study showed that the experimental group that learned using multimedia showed better performance after training compared to the control group that learned using the traditional method, as the module contributed to developing Arabic language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) among students, as the post-observation scores of the experimental group were high, and the results showed statistically significant differences between the average scores of the members of the experimental and control groups in the post-observation list of Arabic language skills, in favor of the experimental group. Moreover, the results showed through measuring Eta square that the actual impact size of the educational module was large.

Based on these results, the study recommended a set of recommendations, including: The Ministry of Education adopts the educational module and applies it to third-grade students in the Arabic language subject, due to its proven effectiveness and comprehensiveness of all language skills.

The thesis was supervised by Dr. Yahya Jaber, and the examination committee included Dr. Saed Rabaya and Dr. Mosaddaq Brahmeh.
