The Faculty of Sciences at the Arab American University received a delegation from the Crystal Institute for Biocomputing affiliated to the University of Lille in France, within the framework of Al Maqdisi Scholarship. The two teams are studying the effect of extracts extracted from Middle Eastern medicinal plants in the treatment of diabetic patients, and working on central proteins in this context.

The delegation of the French University of Lille included the president of the institution, Prof. Dr. Cedric Al-Husseini, and Dr. Joachim Nairn, who were received by the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, Dr. Siba Shanak, Prof. Dr. Hilal Zaid, from the Faculty of Medicine, and laboratory technicians in the Faculties of Sciences and Medicine.

The visit also aims to enhance the prospects of cooperation between the Arab American University and the Cristal Institute for Biocomputing of the University of Lille in France, and to inform the staff of the available capabilities of the university to promote joint research. A field tour was made for the delegation to get acquainted with the laboratories of human medicine, pharmacy, science, and rich scientific research laboratories. With pharmaceutical drug extraction devices, animal tissue culture, animal breeding unit, as well as the computerized power available at the university.
