Dr. Alstaty finished Tawjihi (The Palestinian General High School Examination) in 2006, ranked on the national level as the fourth-best student in the scientific stream. He pursued his undergraduate study at Arab American University (AAUP) between 2006-2009, completing his B.Sc. degree in physics with an excellent standing. In 2013, he obtained his M.Sc. from Birzeit University after writing a thesis titled "The Binding Energy of a Deuteron Immersed in a Vapor of Nucleons". In 2014, he joined the ATLAS Collaboration at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) based at Geneva, Switzerland, working on his doctoral dissertation titled "Commissioning of the ATLAS Pixel Detector at Run 2 of the LHC, and Search for Supersymmetric Particles with Two Same-Sign Leptons or Three Leptons in the Final State". In 2017, He obtained his Ph.D. in Experimental Particle Physics from Aix-Marseille University, France. After working shortly as an Adjunct Professor of Physics at Bethlehem University and Palestine Polytechnic University, he joined AAUP Physics Department. Dr. Alstaty is an Assistant Professor of Physics at AAUP since 2020. Since October 2023, Dr. Alstaty works at the Office of Advisor to the Board of Directors for Planning and Development at AAUP as well as its subunit (Quality Promotion Office) on various projects, which include but are not limited to strategic planning, internal auditing and university rankings.
