Overview

The curriculum of the architecture engineering program equips student with the theoretical and practical skills. The department provides the student with opportunities for practical training. Together, these two features of our program prepare the student to join the employment market as designers and architectural engineers with ample knowledge of sustainable design and the construction and technical requirement of the building industry.

The Architectural Engineering (AE) program prepare students to be effective in shaping a sustainable built environment in Palestine and in the region. The student specializing in AE will explore engineering design building construction, structures, electrical and mechanical systems.

The AE program will take care of structural integrity of buildings, the design and analysis of heating, ventilating and air- conditioning and plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems, acoustics lighting, energy conservation, building science and the study of building performance.

  • Identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.

  • Apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of safety, public health and welfare.

  • Develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgement.

  • Use the techniques, skills and modern engineering tools necessary for architectural engineering practice.

  • Apply sustainability principles, including energy efficiency and materials selection, in building design.

  • Use engineering knowledge and tools to solve mechanical, structural, and electrical system problems.

  • Integrate design knowledge across disciplines to address engineering challenges.

  • Apply project management principles to design, build, and operate building systems within regulations.

  • Make ethical engineering decisions, considering global and societal impacts.
