Overview

The Program of Civil Engineering (CE) is to prepare the student for successful professional practice in the field of Civil Engineering, or further graduate study and research at recognized graduate schools. To support this mission, the focus of the curriculum is on teaching science and engineering education that is relevant to the needs of society and industry. The program of (CE) is to provide students with a well-balanced, high quality education in four areas of Civil Engineering practice: environment, geotechnical, structural and transportation engineering.

  • Prepare students to design and implement systems to address engineering challenges.

  • Develop communication skills, including technical report writing and presentations.

  • Enable students to develop specialized knowledge and competence for successful professional careers.

Upon completion of this program, students should be equipped with comprehensive knowledge, skills, and abilities to excel in their endeavors.

Possess in-depth knowledge of processes and technologies in civil engineering.

Apply mathematics, science, and engineering techniques to solve civil engineering problems.

Understand the economics of designing and constructing structures.

Have strong knowledge of engineering concepts and constraints in civil design.

Communicate effectively with others using oral or written skills.

Use engineering knowledge to design structures, devices, or processes that meet specific needs within various constraints.

Use measurement data and software to create and simulate 3D models of structures for testing and evaluation.

Understand the impact of engineering solutions through knowledge of social sciences, economics, and humanities.
