What will I learn

In a Computer Systems Engineering program, you will learn about:

  • Computer Architecture and Operating Systems: Understanding the structure and function of computer systems, including processors, memory, and the design and management of operating systems.

  • Software Engineering and Digital Logic: Principles of software development, algorithms, data structures, and digital circuit design, including logic gates and complex systems.

  • Networks and Communication: Networking principles, protocols, and the design and management of network systems.

  • Embedded Systems and Systems Integration: Designing and developing specialized computing systems within larger frameworks, and integrating hardware and software components to ensure seamless system functionality.

  • Cybersecurity: Techniques and tools to protect systems and networks from cyber threats.

You will learn Computer System Engineering through a combination of the following methods:

  • Lectures: Theoretical knowledge of computer architecture, software engineering, and digital logic design.

  • Laboratory Work & Projects: Hands-on experience and collaborative projects to design, build, and test computer systems.

  • Assignments & Examinations: Regular assignments and assessments to reinforce learning and evaluate your understanding.

  • Internships & Workshops: Practical experience in the industry and exposure to the latest technologies through expert-led workshops.

  • Teamwork: Collaborative projects and lab work to develop effective teamwork skills.

Jenin and Ramallah Campuses

The Arab American University has two campuses: the main campus on Telfit Street in Jenin, and another campus in Abu Qash, near Alrehan, Ramallah, Palestine. The program is offered at both locations.

Classrooms

Classes are conducted in classrooms and laboratories during the day. Since 2019, the university has implemented a blended lecture system, combining in-person instruction with online sessions via Zoom when necessary.

Libraries

AAUP’s Library is located on the 4th floor of the IT building on Jenin campus. The size of the library is about 1400 square meters, where the stacks, reading areas, staff work areas, and computers for library applications are located.
