In the present study we will try to explore the cause of the Crohn’s disease. Two theories have been proposed by many previous investigators. One theory is in favor of being a genetic disease, while the second theory states that Mycobacterium avium subsp paratuberculosis (MAP) is the cause. In this project a detailed optimized protocol for detection of MAP from human blood of patients with Crohn’s disease. Nested Polymerase Chain Reaction method will be applied to investigate the presence of the MAP.  Sequencing of PCR products will be applied to investigate whether MAP is its source or not.
