The Modern Languages Department at the Arab American University seeks to give students a solid background in all theoretical and practical aspects of the English language and to prepare them for careers in translation or communication (or education).
The Modern Languages Department (MLD) was first started in 2003 with a small number of students. The department has developed rapidly since then, and the number of students rose to almost 400 students by 2007/2008.
