About Program

Overview

Interior Architecture is a multi-aspects specialization that aims to study and analyze the interior environment, while taking into consideration the tangible and intangible elements to achieve the goals of the interior design. It focuses on implementing creative, functional and attractive solutions inside architecture to reach an interior environment that meets the needs and goal of users and improve their lives.

In the Interior Architecture program, our teaching depends on practical project design implementing for the architecture and interior design concepts. Students learn how to order elements that create good designed interior spaces, and learn about shapes, areas, structures, materials, fabrics, furniture, colors and lightings. Designing process follows an organized approach of (researching, analyzing and knowledge blending) in a creative way in order to build interior spaces that achieve the project goals and customers’ needs.

Interior Architecture is a mix between Interior Design and Architecture Engineering, this is the first Program of its kind in Palestine and the second in the region.The Program is offered as a Collaboration with The Academy of Fine Arts of Verona - Italy.

The Academy of Fine Arts of Verona is a post-secondary school for studies in the visual arts, founded in 1764. The “Accademia di Belle Arti” is one of the oldest Art Academies in the world and it is listed as one of the Top five” Accademie Storiche d'Italia”.

The Program was designed by The Academy of Fine Arts of Verona and it meets the International Standards and the Italian Standards. Many of the courses will be taught by the faculty of The Academy of Fine Arts of Verona- Italy.

The Interior Architecture program aspires to be a pioneering leader in the design of creative, functional, and aesthetically pleasing interior environments that not only meet the needs and aspirations of users but also enhance their quality of life. The program aims to blend the principles of interior design with architectural engineering to create spaces that are innovative, sustainable, and reflective of the highest standards in the field.

Mission

The Interior Architecture program is committed to providing students with a comprehensive education that combines both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. By integrating the principles of interior design and architectural engineering, the program equips students with the skills needed to create well-designed interior spaces. Our mission is to foster creativity, technical proficiency, and an understanding of historical and contemporary design trends. Through collaboration with prestigious institutions and a focus on real-world applications, the program prepares graduates to excel in various career paths within the interior architecture field, whether in design, restoration, teaching, or freelance work.

Goals

Developing students' skills in architectural design and visualization, including the design of interior decorations and lighting based on scientific and engineering principles.
Empowering students to understand how to preserve and restore old buildings in ways that ensure their safety and sustainability.
Teaching students the laws of safe building and building safety to ensure designs meet safety and quality standards.
Preparing students to use computers and various architectural drawing programs to effectively highlight architectural concepts.
Training students to build physical and virtual models (via computer) to enhance their skills in presenting their design ideas.
Educating students on historical engineering and architectural designs to understand the evolution of architecture and various design methods.
Providing an educational environment that focuses on the practical application of theoretical concepts through design projects, allowing students to deal with real-world problems in interior design.
Preparing students comprehensively to work in various fields, such as residential and commercial space design, building renovation, furniture design, and providing design consultations to clients.
Encouraging students to develop their skills for freelance work or managing their own projects using modern technology.
Preparing students to be capable of working in the field of teaching and education in technical and engineering institutes and universities, contributing to the transfer of knowledge and experience to future generations.

Career of Graduates

Graduates can work in all housing and commercial sector fields, as they can design restaurants, offices and market stores and others.
They can fully renew buildings or hotels or even houses.
They work on the interior architecture of kitchens and furniture, as they can work in furniture stores to design furniture or kitchens.
They can work on studios, offices and mega stores as they can discuss customers of what is the best design for their needs.
Designing buildings, hospitals and medical units with the requested standards and specifications for each building.
They can work on private projects and design commercial fairs, engineering offices and companies.
They can also work in teaching in arts and engineering institutes or in universities.
Freelance work, as they can work by their own on their computers using the modern technology, from their homes.
