Overview

The Master of Engineering Management program at the Arab American University is designed for experienced professionals and holders of a bachelor’s degree in related specializations who wish to develop their leadership and management skills in the fields of engineering, computers, architecture and design. The Master of Engineering Management program provides the graduates with opportunities to develop their technical expertise and competence in line with the requirements necessary to fill administrative leadership positions in companies that aim to attract administrative leaders capable of making appropriate strategic decisions in order to build a sustainable competitive advantage to ensure the sustainability of the institution and business.

The Master of Engineering Management is an interdisciplinary program that combines various fields of engineering, technology and business administration to bridge the gap between higher education outcomes and the requirements of the local, regional and global labor market. The program also provides a strong balance between fundamental engineering principles, leadership and management techniques as well as business administration arts related to the engineering industry. Students would acquire the theoretical, quantitative and analytical skills and tools that they may need to work within multidisciplinary teams or assume a leadership position in engineering management, address complex business challenges or find innovative solutions.

Goals

The Master of Engineering Management program at the Arab American University aims to:

1. Prepare engineers from various specializations to address advanced and difficult engineering problems, taking into account technical, social and economic factors and impacts.

2. Prepare graduates to assume leadership roles in their institutions by identifying the best methods for managing changes in engineering processes as well as benefiting from relevant technological innovations.

3. Provide graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to interact and communicate effectively with specialists and experts from other disciplines inside and outside their institutions.

4. Provide graduates with the knowledge, skills and awareness of the long-term sustainability factors associated with adopting any engineering process or product.

5. Develop the student's mental, technical and creative skills to make strategic decisions in order to build a sustainable competitive advantage, solve problems and manage risks for the institution.

6. Learn how to use skills of people to manage individuals and groups from different backgrounds.

Career of Graduates

A graduate of the Master in Engineering Management program can work in various sectors such as production institutions (factories), service institutions (banks, hospitals, telecommunications companies, insurance companies, municipalities, consulting institutions, etc.). A graduate of the Engineering Management program can benefit these sectors through planning, implementation, control, and supervision of all different administrative activities. Collecting, interpreting and using data effectively to make fair and sound strategic decisions and evaluating their impacts while taking into account social, economic, ethical, environmental, health and public safety issues.

Demonstrating leadership and effective communication skills among graduates of the program in addition to obtaining more learning skills with the integration of new strategic approaches or abstract solutions.

Enabling graduates to assume responsibility and conduct academic research as well as contribute to professional knowledge.
