Overview

The BSc program in Mathematics and Statistics, all of its tracks, at the Arab American University is designed for students who finished 12th grade in high school in scientific stream or equivalent study. The program prepares students to use their knowledge in Mathematics and statistics to find solutions for problems and challenges in the fields need a good knowledge in Mathematics and statistics. The program helps students to pursue a career in education, academic research, technology services and industry. It also provides the students with a solid mathematical foundation for MSc studies in mathematics or related fields. The program offers courses in Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Probability and Statistics.

Mission

The mission of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at AAUP is to provide an outstanding environment for students at any level in the program, solve problems related to mathematics and statistics, participate in a variety of career paths, and to express mathematical concepts tightly and clearly as well.

Goals

Manage students to construct a strong knowledge in mathematics and statistics and other branches of science and engineering.
Enable students to develop their skills that needed to design Mathematical and statistical studies.
Prepare students who will use the language of mathematics, including specialized vocabulary and symbols, to express mathematical and statistical ideas precisely.
Develop and implement ways and means to ensure the quality of performance and outputs from Mathematics and statistics program.
Enable students to demonstrate mathematical thinking and apply it in real life problems
Enable students with the ability to organize specialized courses in computer programs used in Mathematics and statistics.

The graduates of the department of Mathematics and Statistics at the AAUP tend to be highly satisfied with employment. They can work as teachers in private and publics schools, consultants in financial and statistical foundations and programmers.
