As a part of the University’s constant endeavor to provide the Faculty of Medicine with modern technologies and various means of education, an agreement has been concluded with Oxford Medical Education with simulation technology, through the Oxford-Palestine Foundation, to provide students of the Faculty of Medicine at the Arab American University with licenses under which students can use the Oxford platform for medical education technology in virtual reality. This platform provides many clinical cases so that students can learn in a virtual environment in order to enhance their clinical and medical skills in preparation for their training in hospitals and having direct interaction with patients.

Experts from the University of Oxford trained the students and the academic staff on the principles of using this platform effectively by holding a workshop via the Zoom platform, with the presence and supervision of the Faculty Deanship.

The Vice President for Medical Faculties Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Asia, said that the use of virtual reality as a training tool has become an important trend in modern education, especially in the field of medicine and health. Moreover, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Malik Zaben stressed that this technology is being used increasingly in the developed world, but it is new in the Arab region. Dr. Zaben added than the Faculty of Medicine at the Arab American University is almost the first faculty to use this technology in medical education.
