What will I learn

In the Occupational Therapy program at the Arab American University Palestine, you will embark on an exciting journey to learn how to help people of all ages live their best lives by improving their ability to perform daily activities despite physical, emotional, or cognitive challenges. You will study how the human body and mind develop and work, focusing on normal development, anatomy, physiology, neuroanatomy, and developmental psychology. You will also learn about the challenges people face due to illnesses, injuries, or disabilities, and the role of occupational therapy in supporting them. Your studies will cover working with children, adolescents, and adults with neurological disabilities, hand injuries, mental health disorders, orthopedic issues, and aging-related challenges. By applying therapy theories and models, you will develop strong communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and innovative problem-solving strategies to help individuals achieve independence in daily activities, work, and leisure, ultimately improving their quality of life. Additionally, you will learn the importance of cultural diversity, ethics, and professionalism in practice, equipping you for diverse career opportunities in healthcare settings such as hospitals, schools, and rehabilitation centers.
