The Arab American University is seeking to hire a "Laboratory Technician" in the laboratories (Biology, Anatomy, Histology, Microbiology) / Faculty of Medicine - Ramallah Campus on a temporary, full-time contract.
The laboratory technician is expected to cooperate with faculty members, prepare and arrange laboratory materials and tools, and assist students in performing experiments and understanding the results. The technician must be able to conduct various tests and analyses in the field of biology, anatomy and histology, as well as document the results accurately.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and equip laboratories, assist faculty members and students and provide the necessary technical support.
- Preserve biological samples and tissues used in education and medical research, such as human tissues and organs, corpses, blood, urine, animal samples and microbiology.
- Prepare tissues, organs and samples accurately for use in teaching and research, while documenting detailed information about the samples.
- Conduct various analyses and tests related to tissues, anatomy and microbiology and record the results accurately.
- Commitment to the necessary security procedures, health and environmental standards to maintain personal safety and the safety of samples and the environment.
- Document all operations and results accurately and prepare detailed reports for use in research and evaluation.
- Participate in training students and explain some techniques in the laboratory.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and devices used in laboratories.
- Follow up on periodic maintenance of devices and equipment with the concerned bodies.
- Follow up on the needs of laboratories for materials and stationery and follow up with the concerned bodies.
Qualifications and Skills Required for the Job:
- The applicant must hold a bachelor's degree or diploma in biology or medical laboratory sciences from an accredited university.
- The applicant must have at least one year of practical experience in the field of specialization.
