Overview

In 2019, the 5-year bachelor of Pharmacy program was established in response to the continuous increase in demand for primary healthcare providers and to satisfy the need for highly qualified and active Pharmacists as an integral part of the healthcare system and the Pharmaceutical industry. The Pharmacy program was initially started as a department in the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences at the Arab American University main campus in Jenin. As a continuum to the program’s success and in accordance with the university's vision for the program to become a leading contributor both nationally and internationally in all aspects of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Faculty of Pharmacy was established and housed in a distinguished modern five story building on Fall 2021/2022 academic year.

The Faculty of Pharmacy at the Arab American University aims to be a pioneer in adopting modern teaching methodologies and develop novel strategies to create a unique learning experience that enriches the students' knowledge and expertise in all aspects of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. In addition to world class faculty members and the high-end facilities provided by the faculty to support the students' learning journey.

Mission

The Faculty of Pharmacy mission is to provide a state-of-the-art leaning environment that encompasses modern teaching methodologies, top notch technologies and Avant-grade research that ultimately develop professional, intellectual, proactive and competent Pharmacists with high ethical standards. Students are expected to acquire the necessary expertise, knowledge, communication skills and reflective practices to meet the needs of the future pharmacist and celebrate a rewarding career.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this program, students should be equipped with comprehensive knowledge, skills, and abilities to excel in their endeavors.

Become a professional pharmacist capable of leading a team work with the aid of applying ethical issues and proper communication skills with individuals and communities.

Understand and apply knowledge from the basic sciences of pharmacy to evaluate and explain drug actions, solve therapeutic problems and focus patient centered care.

Manage healthcare needs using human, financial, technology and physical resources to optimize the safety and efficacy of medication use systems.

Design prevention, intervention of educational strategies for individuals and communities to manage different aspects of health and wellness.
