Overview

The Speech, Language, and Hearing Disorders Center provides a comprehensive range of services to address communication and hearing issues. Key offerings include articulation, fluency, and voice therapy for speech disorders; expressive, receptive, and pragmatic/social communication therapy for language disorders; and comprehensive hearing assessments, hearing aid services, and cochlear implant support for hearing disorders. Additional services encompass aural rehabilitation, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) solutions, pediatric care, and swallowing therapy (dysphagia). The center also offers educational and counseling services such as parent/caregiver training, support groups, and workshops. These services are designed to enhance communication abilities and quality of life for individuals of all ages through personalized care provided by specialized professionals.

Departments

The Speech, Language, and Hearing Disorders Center offers specialized care through two distinct departments: The Hearing Examination and Diagnosis Department, which focuses on diagnosing hearing impairments through comprehensive evaluations, and The Speech, Language, and Swallowing Examination and Diagnosis Department, which specializes in assessing and diagnosing speech, language, and swallowing disorders to guide tailored treatment plans.

The Hearing Examination and Diagnosis Department

The department offers diagnostic exams and rehabilitation for hearing and balance issues, serving all ages. It also provides fitting, calibration, and guidance for medical hearing aids.

The Speech, Language, and Swallowing Examination and Diagnosis Department

The department offers assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for communication disorders, including language issues, cleft lip and palate, and swallowing problems. It also provides early detection services, awareness programs for parents, and training for staff in community centers and institutions.
