Due to the huge data revolution that the world is witnessing, the specialty of statistics and data analysis has become one of the most sought-after disciplines in the world. Hence, there is a great need in the Palestinian market for specialists who are able to deal with data and to be able to analyze and interpret them in an effective way in order to make the necessary decisions to advice their clients.

The bachelor`s degree of Statistics and Data Analysis at the Faculty of Sciences at the Arab American University is a joint program in corporation with the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics. The cooperation is based on the needs of society for statisticians who have practical skills in statistics and data analysis to serve in governmental and private institutions. Both institutions have placed great importance on developing skills to understand modern information and they have orientated towards modern disciplines in order to keep up with current rapid developments. It was agreed upon by the bureau and the university that they must work together in order to produce the statisticians needed desperately to help the community. The program is expected to provide a solid foundation and practical skills needed in both Statistics and Data Analysis. This program is considered a qualitative addition to the programs offered by the Faculty of Sciences and is the first of its kind in the West Bank.
