Defense of a Ph.D Dissertation by Researcher Tamara Abu Ta’a in the Educational Administration Program

Researcher Tamara Mustafa Abu Ta'a, a student in the Ph.D program in Educational Administration, has defended her thesis titled "Change Management Strategies for Principals of Public Primary Schools in Jerusalem and Their Relationship to Achieving Creativity among Teachers from Their Point of View (Developing an Optimal Model)".

The study aimed to identify the strategies of change management among public primary school principals in Jerusalem and their relationship to achieving creativity among teachers from their point of view (developing an optimal model). This is by determining the level of application of change management strategies among public primary school principals in Jerusalem from the teachers’ point of view. It is also to be done by determining the reality of achieving the creativity skills of teachers in public primary schools in Jerusalem from their point of view, and determining the nature of the relationship between change management strategies among principals of public primary schools in Jerusalem and the achievement of teachers’ creativity skills from their point of view.

The researcher used a mixed quantitative and qualitative approach by developing the interview questionnaire tool, and the study sample consisted of (350) male and female teachers and (11) male and female principals. The study came up with findings, the most important of which is that the level of application of change management strategies among principals of public primary schools in Jerusalem from the point of view of teachers was moderate, as the arithmetic mean of the total score reached (3.60), while it was shown that the reality of achieving creativity skills among teachers in public primary schools in Jerusalem From their point of view was moderate, as the arithmetic mean of the total score was (3.60), and the results showed that there is a positive, direct relationship between the change management strategies of public primary school principals in Jerusalem and the achievement of creativity among teachers from their point of view. The study recommended the need to work to maintain dialogue and discussion between teachers and school principals, to carry out permanent reflections on the steps that will be accomplished during the change process, to adopt a method of cooperation and participation in the work of all school employees to strengthen teachers financially and morally and to develop their technological capabilities. This is to keep pace with developments in the educational field, such as the use of Artificial Intelligence applications in teaching.
