The Arab American University has received the President of the Palestinian Bar Association, Attorney Fadi Abbas, and members of the Association Council on the sidelines of the legal practice exam, which the University hosted on its Ramallah campus.
The delegation was received by Professor Dr. Mohammad Asia, Vice President for Ramallah Campus, Dr. Bara Asfour, Vice President for Financial and Administrative Affairs, and Dr. Ahmed Al Ashqar, Head of the Legal Sciences Department at the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
Prof. Dr. Mohammad Asia welcomed the president and members of the Bar Association, expressed the University’s readiness to cooperate with the Bar Association in all fields and harness the available capabilities to hold its activities and events.
In turn, Dr. Bara Asfour stressed the importance of the University’s cooperation as a national institution with the Bar Association, and said: “We are proud of the strategic relationship that brings us together with the Palestinian Bar Association, and the University hosting of the 300 applicants for the practice exam is a living embodiment of the complementary relationship between the University and the Syndicate institutions in the country.”
Dr. Ahmed Al Ashqar touched upon the successive developments in the master’s and doctoral programs in the Department of Legal Sciences and the extent to which these programs contribute to the localization of academic legal education in Palestine.
For his part, the President of the Bar Association, Mr. Fadi Abbas, thanked the Arab American University for hosting the lawyers applying for the professional practice exam and holding it in its hall and providing all the necessary facilities. He expressed the importance of academic institutions in strengthening the syndicate and academic work at the same time.
