Dr. Sa’eb Iriqat lectures in an academic meeting for Conflict Resolution students in AAUP and Conflict Analyzing and Resolution from George Mason University

Aiming to enhance relations and academic collaboration between both universities and working for future experience and students mobility, the Faculty of Graduate Studies in AAUP organized an academic meeting between graduate students in the Conflict Resolution program in AAUP and BA, Masters and PhD Students from the program “Conflict Analyzing and Resolution” from George Mason University in Virginia- Washington. 

Dr. Dalal Iriqat- the VP for International Relations said that AAUP is planning to start an academic collaboration with George Mason University, especially that George Mason University is considered to be a leader in conflict analyzing and resolution. Dr. Iriqat explained that the strategy and policy of AAUP is to always seek to build international academic relations that include students and faculty mobility with international universities to enrich the Palestinian academic experience by learning from others experiences.

During the Event

AAUP signed a collaboration agreement with Jacksonville University in Florida-USA for launching a PH.D. program in Nursing.

AAUP presented by Prof. Waleed Deeb the Academic Advisor signed the agreement with Jacksonville University presented by Prof. Randy Friburn Vice President, and Prof. Christine Sabianza, Vice-Academic, with in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Asia Assistant President at AAUP for Medical Faculties Affairs.

Prof. Christine Sabianza assured that this agreement is a result of Jacksonville University high confidence in AAUP in general and in the faculty of Nursing in particular, as for its academic reputation, faculty members and its graduates.

Dr. Nahed Habib Allah

Dr. Nahed Habib Allah a Professor in sociology at the Faculty of Graduate School - Arab American University, received an invitation from New School University in New York City to teach a course about Jerusalem as an expert in this field. This is considered to be the first time to teach such a course in an American university.

Dr. Nahed said that this course gives students a complete idea about the Holy City as it’s the center of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in its various national and religious dimensions. The course will discuss in details how the lives of the people of Jerusalem were affected by the Israeli occupation policies, and covers the period of mandate and the Palestinian national movements that emerged and developed during that period of the 1948 war until the joining part of Jerusalem to the State of Israel, as it will cover the occupation and joining all Jerusalem city in 1967. "
