AAUP Organizes a Visit for Computer Science Students to Jawwal Company

The Arab American University - Ramallah Campus organized an educational visit for undergraduate students in computer science to the headquarters of Jawwal Company, in coordination between the Faculty of Data Science and the Computer Science Club.

The visit provided the students with an opportunity to explore the work environment at Jawwal, learn about the company's current activities and projects, as well as interact with professionals in this field.

Discussion sessions and interactive workshops were held in the aim of exchanging knowledge and experiences between students and specialists in the company.

The Arab American University considers this visit as a valuable opportunity for students to develop their understanding of the practical applications of computer and data science.

M.A. Thesis Predicting Electrical Loads Using Machine Learning Algorithms

Mubarak Abu Mohsen, a researcher in the Master's program in Data Science and Business analysis, published a research paper titled "Predicting Electrical Loads Using Machine Learning Algorithms for Energy System in Palestine" in the Q1-rated journal (Energies).

The student has previously defended his thesis, which is the first in its field in Palestine, where it aimed to build an accurate, reliable model for predicting electrical loads using deep learning algorithms (LSTM, GRU and RNN), based on factual data obtained from the Tubas Electricity Company.

A Workshop on Employing Artificial Intelligence to Serve Business Facilities

The Faculty of Data Science at the Arab American University held a workshop via Zoom platform entitled: "Employing Artificial Intelligence to Serve Business Facilities", organized by the Entrepreneurship and Business Development Center in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate.

Mr. Ayman Al-Mimi, the Director of the Entrepreneurship and Business Development Center, inaugurated the workshop, which was attended by representatives of fifty Palestinian companies, stressing the importance of holding meetings that aim to provide business owners with the necessary knowledge for technological developments affecting the labor market.
