The Arab American University Holds a Medical Day in Tubas and the Northern Valley

The Arab American University has held a medical day in Tubas Governorate and the Northern Valley, as part of a campaign carried out by the University in the governorates, targeting the local community and their children.

 

The meeting was inaugurated by the Acting Governor of Tubas and the Northern Valley, Ahmed Al Asa’ad, who welcomed the attendees and appreciated the role of the Arab American University in this humanitarian initiative to serve citizens. Al Asa’ad also appreciated AAUP’s important role in the region, and its interest in the scientific process at all levels.

Researcher Hassan Musleh, a student in the master’s program in emergency nursing, defended his thesis titled: “The Association between Anxiety, Stress, Depression, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome among Palestinian University Students: a Cross-Sectional Study.”

The study dealt with irritable bowel syndrome, which is one of the most common functional digestive system disorders among university students and is linked to several physiological and psychological factors. The researcher aimed to uncover the association between irritable bowel syndrome and psychological factors including depression, anxiety, and stress among Palestinian university students.

Defense of A Master’s Thesis in the Adult Medical Surgical Nursing Program by Researcher Romance Shtayyeh

Researcher Romance Shtayyeh, a student in the Master’s Program in Adult Medical Surgical Nursing, defended her thesis titled: “Self-efficacy and Quality of Life among Patients with Type 2 Diabetes.”

The study aimed to evaluate self-efficacy management and quality of life among patients with type 2 diabetes who attend a primary health care clinic in the northern governorates of the West Bank.

In her cross-sectional descriptive study, the researcher used a questionnaire instrument. The questionnaire was distributed to an appropriate sample of type 2 diabetes patients, consisting of 397 patients who visit diabetes clinics affiliated with the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the northern West Bank.

Researcher Mahmoud Mohammad Saeed Defends Master’s Thesis in the Applied Islamic Finance Program

Researcher Mahmoud Saeed, a student in the Master’s program in Applied Islamic Finance, defended his thesis titled: “The Impact of Digital Transformation on Competitive Advantage - A Case Study of Islamic Banks in Palestine.”

The study aimed to identify the impact of digital transformation on competitive advantage, “a case study of Islamic banks in Palestine”. The researcher used a descriptive analytical method as an approach to the study, and developed a questionnaire consisting of 46 items distributed over two main areas. The questionnaire was distributed to a sample size of (301) male and female employees selected following a systematic random sampling method.

Researcher Randa Mohammad Taher Defends Master’s Thesis in the Applied Islamic Finance Program

Researcher Randa Mohammad Taher, a student in the Applied Islamic Finance master’s program in the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the Arab American University, defended her thesis entitled “The Impact of Covid-19 on the Profitability of Islamic Banks Compared to Commercial Banks in Palestine.”

The researcher presented the stages of writing and the results of her thesis. The thesis was supervised by Dr. Rasha Abbadi. Dr. Sharif Abukarsh was the internal examiner and Dr. Mufid Al Zahir was the external examiner from An-Najah National University. The committee decided to award the student with the master’s degree.

Researcher Abd Alrahman Bassam Abu Rub Defends Master’s Thesis in the Applied Islamic Finance program

Researcher Abd Alrahman Bassam Abu Rub, a student in the Master’s program in Applied Islamic Finance, defended his thesis entitled: “Crypto-currencies from an Islamic Perspective.”

The study dealt with the concept of currency and virtual digital cash, how to trade it electronically, the consequences of its issuance and the economic impacts it produces, and determining the religious controls in terms of its disbursement and circulation in a consistent manner with Islamic Sharia.

Researcher Saly Awad Defends Master’s Thesis in the Criminal Science Program

Researcher Saly Awad, a student in the Master’s Program in Criminal Science - Department of Legal Sciences, defended her thesis titled: “Controls on the Discretionary Power of the Criminals Court Judge in Punitive Individualization - A Comparative Study.”

The study dealt with the controls of the discretionary power of the criminal court judge in punitive individualization, comparing it to the relevant criminal legislation. This study is conducted in light of the powers granted to the criminal court judge due to the importance of clarifying the position of the Palestinian legislator in the Palestinian Criminal Procedure Law No. (3) of 2001 as well as the comparative legislation on the discretionary authority of the criminal court judge in punitive individualization in terms of the authority of the criminal court judge on the one hand.

Researcher Aws Fayed Defends Master’s Thesis in the Applied Islamic Finance Program

Researcher Aws Fayed, a student in the Master’s program in Applied Islamic Finance, defended his thesis titled: “Managing and Developing Orphans’ Funds in Palestine from an Islamic Economic Perspective - A Case Study of the “Foundation for Managing and Developing Orphans’ Funds in Palestine.”

The study dealt with the subject of managing, preserving and developing the funds of minors and orphans from an Islamic economic perspective. This is a descriptive, analytical study of the Orphan Foundation in Palestine, as it shed light and focused on the extent of interest of Islamic jurisprudence, previously and at the present time, with orphans in terms of their care and the rule to preserve their rights and money. The study also addressed the provisions of guardianship provisions as well as the legitimacy of developing and investing orphans’ funds.

مركز حسيب الصباغ للتميز في الجامعة ينظم ورشة عمل حول التعريف بالأجهزة المكتبية وصيانتها

نظم مركز حسيب الصباغ للتميز في الجامعة العربية الأمريكية بالتعاون مع شركة كوبي 1 للأجهزة المكتبية ورشة عمل تحت عنوان "التعريف بالأجهزة المكتبية وصيانتها"، استهدفت فريق متطوعي المركز "فريق رواد الابتكار"، وعدد من طلبة الجامعة من مختلف الكليات، حيث قام بالتدريب الخبير حازم صوالحة.

وأوضحت مدير عام مركز حسيب الصباغ للتميز المهندسة ميس عواد أن الهدف من الدورة إكساب المتدربين معرفة وخبرة حول الأجهزة المكتبية والمهارات الأساسية في مهنة صيانة طابعات الحاسب الآلي، وكذلك طريقة استخدام الأجهزة والأدوات اللازمة لعمل الصيانة والإصلاح، وهذا الأمر يساعدهم خلال الانتقال إلى سوق العمل، مشيرة إلى أن مثل هذه الدورات ستكون إلى جانب اختصاصهم يساهم في صقل شخصيتهم، مؤكدة أن هناك العديد من الدورات سيتم تنظيمها من قبل المركز.

 مناقشة رسالة ماجستير في برنامج العلوم الجنائية للطالب ياسر حماد

ناقش الطالب ياسر حماد الباحث في برنامج الماجستير في العلوم الجنائية - قسم العلوم القانونية بكلية الدراسات العليا رسالته الموسومة بعنوان: "الجريمة الاقتصادية وتفريد العقوبة".

وتكمن مشكلة الدراسة بشكل رئيس في النصوص القانونية المتعلقة بتفريد العقوبة في الجرائم الاقتصادية، سواء الواردة منها في قانون العقوبات أو في القوانين الأخرى حيث تمنح المحكمة صلاحية تقديرية ويَغلب أن يكون الفارق بين الحدين كبير بحيث تتسع معه سلطة القاضي التقديرية لمواجهة الظروف المختلفة التي تحيط بالجريمة الاقتصادية ومرتكبها.
