Dr. Dalal Iriqat, Associate Professor of Diplomacy at the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the Arab American University, has participated in the World Economic Forum, which was held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, last week.
Dr. Iriqat was chosen as a member of the official delegation of global young leaders to attend the special meeting, which took place with the participation of more than 1,000 participants, including state presidents, senior officials and international experts from the governmental and private sectors. Her participation took place over two days in discussions of young global leaders that addressed the role of youth, woman and education.
During these discussions, Dr. Iriqat stressed that education is an essential tool in facing global challenges, especially in the era of technological progress and artificial intelligence. She pointed to the steadfastness of education in Palestine despite the obstacles and difficulties it faces. She also stressed the need to strengthen global cooperation to collectively confront challenges affecting human rights.
As far as her participation is concerned, Dr. Iriqat said: “As Palestinians, it is important for us to build alliances in all international platforms and forums to serve the case in line with global trends in support of human rights, and to find common solutions in the face of political and natural crises.”
The forum falls within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. This year’s forum focuses on three main aspects: global cooperation, economic growth, and energy development, and it embodies a unique opportunity to redraw development paths in the region.
