AAUP Journal of Research Wins the First and Second Places in the Arab Impact Factor Ranking for the Year 2021

The Arab American University Journal of Research got the first place over the 30 other Palestinian journals, and the second place between the other 465 journal who participated from all over the Arab world in the Arab Impact Factor ranking for the year 2021. AAUP got an impact factor of 3.5 which is an achievement to the university and to Palestine.

The “Arab Impact Factor” is considered to be a measure of the importance of the scientific journals as it measures the quality, the strength and originality of the Arab journals of all fields. This factor is the reference for the scientific journals within their field of research.

AAUP President Receives a Delegation from the Police Department to Put the Final Security Steps in AAUP Area

Prof. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri- Arab American University President received a delegation from the Police Department in Jenin in order to put the final practical steps on ground to be implemented for the security in the area of the university.

The delegation was headed by Lt. Col. Abdelfattah Daowd- the Detective Director, and was accompanied by the Head of Jalqamous Police Department, Lt. Col. Ahmad Qadri, Naseem Bzour- the Head of Zababdeh Police Department, Mr. Hisham Mansour- the Director of the Anti-drug Department, Mr. Ali Haj- the Director of Operation Department and Mr. Mohammad Baraghthi- the Director of the Tourism Department.

The Entrepreneurship Program from AAUP Entitled "Culture is the Identity to Steadfastness"

Hassib Sabbagh Center in AAUP and under collaboration with PPU Business Incubator, Dar Al-Kalima University College, Just for Development and Entrepreneurship and under support and supervision of Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development organized a training workshop in the field of selecting ideas among the entrepreneurship program entitled “culture is the identity of steadfastness”.

Representing Hassib Sabbagh Center, Mr. Sami Awad opened the workshop by a speech as he welcomed the guests and started by emphasizing on the importance of the workshop that will be a place for entrepreneurship ideas presented by university students and local community members, in order to develop them by this project of “culture is the identity of steadfastness”. Ideas of this project will concentrate on the Palestinian culture and identity in the time when it this hard time, especially as technology will be used to enhance the culture and identity of steadfastness.

The Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences Organizes a Workshop about Financial and Banking Awareness

The Accounting Department in the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences in Arab American University organized a workshop about “Financial and Banking Awareness” where it hosted Mrs. Fouz Abu Hijleh from Middle East Investment Initiative located in USA.

Mrs. Abu Hijleh talked about the Middle East Investment Initiative and its role in raising awareness and training university students aiming to prepare students to the labor market and compete for the limited positions.

AAUP Participates in "Shams Al Hurryeh" Fair

The Deanship of Student Affairs in Arab American University shared some artistic photos in a fair that was organized in Ramallah city under the name of “Shams Al Hurryeh” (Freedom Sun) organized by Al Bireh Municipality under joint collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Prisoners Affairs Authority. In the fair, a painting by Duaa Rabayaa- a student at the Arabic Language and Media Department in AAUP was displayed.

120 artists participated in the fair where they shared their paintings to express the suffering of prisoners. At the end of the fair, participants were honored, including Duaa Rabayaa whose painting had the admiration of people who visited the fair.

Pioneer Projects for AAUP Graduates and Students Winning the First Places in IEEE Pioneers

A group of Arab American University students and graduates won the first three places in IEEE Pioneers contest – the First phase, that was organized by IEEE Palestine Subsection under the auspicious of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Jawwal.

Greeners Project by Haytham Sharabati, Lina Zahaiqa and Nour Daraghmeh won the first place, while No Limits Project by Jihad Abu Zuhri, Maria Amouri, Deema Abu Jaber and Mohaimen Khatib won the second place, and Lang Smart by Laith Nazzal and Anwar Ghannam won the third place.

Hassib Sabbagh IT Center for Excellence and under coordination with the IEEE- AAUP branch have trained students before the contest on how to prepare the work plan and work model of the project, in addition to training students on the financial, technical, marketing and legal aspects of the projects.

Part of the Police visit to AAUP

A delegation from the Palestinian Police visited Arab American University to discuss means of collaboration, consultation and coordination to put plans to secure the area of the university. 

The delegation was headed by the Assistant Director General of Police for Internal Security General Medhat Omari and accompanied by General Mohammad Taim- the Assistant Director General of Police for Criminal Investigation, General Said Zahra- the Police Director for Jenin Governorate, General Hasan Jamal- the Director of the Tourism Police Department  and some other directors and officers from the police department.

AAUP Wins the Platinum Award in an Initiative Entitled “Arabic in Universities” Organized by the Arab University Sports Federation

The first place among other 10 Arab universities

In the initiative that was organized by the Arab University Sports Federation in UAE entitled “Arab in universities” and had the slogan of “a healthy and sporty university campus”, Arab American University won the platinum award among other 10 other Arab universities.

Arab American University has participated in the initiative under the title “a step and information” that described the virtual marathon that was organized in the West Bank with the participation of school students, university students and the local community on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of AAUP.

The Continuing Education Center in AAUP Graduating a Hebrew Language Course

The Continuing Education Center in Arab American University celebrated the graduation of some of the university staff members who was part of the (30 training hours) Hebrew language course which was trained by Mr. Abdallah Barakat.

Ms. Manar Abu Sbaa- the VP for Administrative Affairs and Dr. Khalid Attyeh- the Head of the Continuing Education Center in AAUP attended the ceremony along with the trainer of the course, Mr. Abdallah Barakat and the participate employees.

Speakers emphasized that the importance of this course comes mainly to upgrade the academic and administrative levels of the university staff and to add a new features for the work environment. They also ensured that there will be future courses to raise the efficiency of employees in the practical and educational lives.

AAUP Organizes Training Workshops to its New Faculty Members

The VP Office for Planning and Development in Arab American University has organized training workshops for 3 days that targeted the newest faculty members who has recently joined AAUP.

The workshops were lectured by Prof. Mohammad Asia- the VP for Medical Schools Affairs, Prof. Mohammad Awad- the Dean of the Scientific Research, Dr. Adli Saleh- the Planning and Development Advisor for the Board of Directors and Dr. Ahmad Owais- the Head of the E-Learning Center.

Dr. Adli Saleh said that the workshops explained the regulations of AAUP, the teaching style, the evaluation, the e-learning, the scientific research and classification as well, and said that all the new 140 faculty members were interested to join these workshops.
